Alguazas Mayor José Gabriel García visited the participants to welcome them and see firsthand how the initial exchange activities were unfolding. During his visit, he highlighted the importance of the municipality continuing to lead European projects that offer new opportunities to young people, fostering international learning, active participation, and the development of personal and social skills.

The “Mindful Nature” project aims to promote mental health and self-awareness among young people through non-formal education methods, experiential learning, and connecting with nature. Through mindfulness workshops, artistic activities, cooperative games, and outdoor pursuits, participants will work on aspects such as resilience, emotional intelligence, personal well-being, and conscious emotional management within a safe and inclusive environment.

Furthermore, the initiative fosters international cooperation and intercultural learning, allowing young people to share experiences regarding mental health care in different countries, strengthen values such as empathy, respect, and solidarity, and encourage the participation of young people with fewer opportunities. In this way, connecting with the natural environment becomes a tool for education and personal growth, helping participants face the challenges inherent to youth.

With this new European project, the Alguazas City Council reaffirms its commitment to young people and to participation in international programs that contribute to their personal development, driving transformative experiences that foster a more conscious, inclusive, and resilient society.
